Assumptions

The flexible load is moved over four hours. The battery comes in 50 kWh modules with two hours of storage, runs one cycle a day at about 90% efficiency, and peaks last about an hour. The lower peak is counted once.

Recognise your site?

PeakGuard is built for small and medium-sized businesses in Norway – for your grid company's tariff, the spot price in your price area and meter data from Elhub.

Two ways PeakGuard lowers the bill

Both happen automatically, within the limits you set.

Capacity charge

Cuts the peaks

A few hours of high demand set the capacity charge for the whole month. PeakGuard keeps demand under the limit, so those hours never happen.

A day in a commercial building. Without PeakGuard, demand peaks at around 430 kW at 08:00. With PeakGuard it stays under the 330 kW limit, and some load moves to the night.

Spot price

Uses the cheap hours

Electricity prices vary through the day, and with more wind and solar the swings grow. PeakGuard heats, charges and runs equipment when power is cheap.

A day of electricity prices and load. Prices peak in the morning and afternoon. With PeakGuard, load moves from the dear hours to the night, when power is cheap.

Room for more equipment

Lower peaks make room for EV chargers, machines or heat pumps within the connection you have. You may avoid upgrading it, and the connection fee that comes with it.
