Who is responsible

spotEQ AS in Stavanger, Norway, is the controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us at post@spoteq.io or on +47 901 60 641.

When you send a request

When you fill in the site analysis form, we receive what you enter: name, company, email, telephone (optional) and a free-text message. If you have used the calculator, the message may contain its figures. We also see which page the form was sent from.

We use this to reply to you, follow up about meter data and your tariff, and where relevant prepare an analysis and a proposal. The legal basis is that you asked us to do this before any agreement (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)), and our legitimate interest in following up enquiries from businesses (Article 6(1)(f)).

The form is sent through Formspree (Formspree, Inc., USA), which forwards it to our email. Formspree also stores the submissions in our account with them, where we can view and delete them. Formspree processes the data on our behalf as a data processor. Because Formspree is based in the USA, the data is transferred outside the EEA. The transfer relies on the EU standard contractual clauses in Formspree's data processing agreement.

If you send us meter data from Elhub or your grid company, we use it only to analyse your site.

How long we keep it

If you become a customer, we keep the information for as long as the customer relationship lasts and as long as accounting rules require. If you do not, we delete the request and any meter data no later than 24 months after our last contact.

When you visit the website

The website sets no cookies and has no advertising.

We use Umami Cloud (Umami Software, Inc., USA) for anonymous visitor statistics: which pages are visited, which website you came from, country, device type and browser, and whether buttons and the form are used. Umami sets no cookies and does not store your IP address, and we cannot use the statistics to identify you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how the website is used and improving it (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

The website is hosted on GitLab Pages (GitLab Inc., USA). To serve the pages and protect the service against abuse, GitLab processes technical information such as IP address, browser type and the time of the visit.

The website's typeface is loaded from Google Fonts. Your browser then contacts Google's servers, and Google receives your IP address.

The calculator on the home page runs only in your browser. The figures you enter are not sent to us unless you send the contact form. The visitor statistics only record that the calculator was used. A short summary of the result is kept temporarily in your browser so it can be filled into the contact form, and is deleted when you close the tab.

Your rights

You can ask for access to the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct, delete or restrict the use of it. You can also object to the processing and ask to receive your data. Email post@spoteq.io and we will reply without undue delay and within one month at the latest.

If you believe we process personal data in breach of the rules, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet.

Changes

We update this policy when we change how we process personal data, for example when we start using a new service. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
