To see what your site needs, we need to know how it actually uses electricity. Here is what we need, and how to get it. It usually takes about fifteen minutes once the access is in place.

What we need

  • Hourly or 15-minute meter values for the last twelve months for the building's main meter. 24 months if you have them. Excel or CSV is fine.
  • The meter point ID (målepunkt-ID): an 18-digit number printed on the grid tariff invoice.
  • The latest grid tariff invoice, so we can see which tariff and capacity charge apply.

If the building has several meters, for example a separate one for charging or production, include them all.

Option 1: Download from Elhub

Elhub is the national database that every electricity meter in Norway reports to. Businesses sign in with ID-porten on behalf of the company, after being given access in Altinn.

1. Get access in Altinn

The managing director (daglig leder) has access automatically and can pass it on to whoever will fetch the data:

  1. Sign in to Altinn and open access management for the company.
  2. Under Energi, vann, avløp og avfall, grant the access package Elektrisitet – produsere, overføre og distribuere, or just the single service Elhub.

If you were given the role Energi, miljø og klima before 19 June 2026, it still gives access.

2. Download the meter values

  1. Go to minside.elhub.no and sign in with ID-porten.
  2. Press Bytt rolle (switch role) and choose the company, so you see the meter points registered to its organisation number.
  3. Choose the meter point and download the consumption values for each month, or for the whole period if offered.

Elhub has reported that downloads for meter points registered to businesses do not always work. If it does not work for you, use option 2.

Option 2: Ask your grid company

Your grid company (for example Lnett, Elvia, Tensio or BKK) holds the same meter values. Many have customer pages where you can download them. If not, email their customer service:

"Please send hourly or 15-minute meter values for the last twelve months for meter point ID [the number], as an Excel or CSV file."

It is free, and you usually get a reply within a few days.

Send the data to us

Send the files and the grid tariff invoice to post@spoteq.io. We use them only to analyse your site, as described in the privacy policy.

The analysis is free and takes about a week after we receive the data. You see where the peaks come from and what your site needs before you decide anything.

Stuck? Send us the latest grid tariff invoice and we will help you from there.
